5 Ways to Manage the Stress of Entrepreneurship

Updated: Jun 1, 2019

Sure, entrepreneurship allows you to chase your dream and pursue your passion. Most of the time, it doesn't even feel like work! But, let's be real, entrepreneurship also means you're at work ALL THE TIME. Everything depends on you and that can get stressful! I still try to find new ways everyday to separate my personal and work life to help manage the stresses of owning my own business. So keep reading and try out some of the things that have worked for me!

Batch Work: Working on one task at a time will save so much time and help you to create better content! By planning and writing a bunch of blog posts and social media content ahead of time, you can check for typos, make sure everything stays on brand, and relieve some of the day-to-day stress. Plus, if you're getting things done ahead of time, you can plan to take time off and give yourself a little vacation...who wouldn't want that!?

Make Time For Yourself: Set hours! This is definitely something I'm still working on because it is TOUGH. When you have your own business, it becomes almost impossible to turn off your brain and relax. Every second of everyday could be used to build your business, right!? Setting hours and boundaries for yourself allows you to take a step back and not take on too much at once.

Meditation: As I mentioned before, owning your own business means your mind is running 1,000 mph at all times! Meditation helps you to keep things in perspective, slow down, and turn off your mind so that you can relax and sleep.

Keep It Fun: Have fun projects on the side that you may not be paid for to keep your passion alive! Styled shoots, creative projects, you name it! These are a great way to try out new styles and explore your creativity, and have been the best way for me to stay inspired and avoid burnout.

Have Systems and Templates in Place: You're probably going to receive multiple emails asking the same questions, and being able to simply send over a template addressing them all in a single click will make your life so much easier! Of course, you'll want to pay attention to the individual needs of each client, but having prepared answers will save SO much time in the long run.
